THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:

Since 1997, the Scholarship Foundation has awarded 160 scholarships, valued at nearly $400,000. The Scholarship Foundation provides corporations, organizations and individuals a mechanism to accomplish their charitable objectives. The Scholarship accepts contributions which will help provide post-secondary educational opportunities for residents of Robertson County.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Any resident of Robertson County, Tennessee who plans to enroll as a first-year student at college, university or vocational school may apply for one of these scholarships with the understanding that the scholarship is to be used during the two semesters or three quarters of the succeeding academic year. There is one designated academic scholarship for Volunteer State Community College.

CRITERIA FOLLOWED IN MAKING AWARDS:

Applicants for academic scholarships:

• Grade point average of 3.0 or above and ACT score of 19 or higher.
• Evidence of scholarship, work experience, leadership, maturity and character.
• Evidence of financial need.
• Participated in extra-curricular activities.
• High school transcript.

Applicants for vocational scholarships:

• Grade point average of 2.5 or above.
• Evidence of scholarship, work experience, leadership, maturity and character.
• Evidence of financial need.
• Participated in extra-curricular activities.
• High school transcript.

OTHER INFORMATION:

All applications must be filed on or before February 6, 2010. Awards will be paid at the beginning of the quarter or semester to the institution of higher learning in which the winning student enrolls during the current year.

Checks will be made payable to the institution and the student by June 30, 2010.
